The solo exhibition “Love & Devotion” (Gallery Vanha Kappalaisentalo, Porvoo, 2022) showcased a collection of works from 2021-2022 that all related to love, eroticism and vitality. Most of the images were different types of collages on canvas constructed from pieces of large cut-up acrylic paintings, all of which had been produced solely for the purpose. Some works are made of long cut out strips and woven together into new images. The shown images are consistently semi-abstract and playful, with subtle erotic allusions. The series “Hoping for Love” visualizes body fixation through grotesque minimalism. The exhibition also included a three-part suite of large drawings, “Amor, The Beloved and The Bananas”, from 2014.
